Bowls England Big Bowls Weekend 2023
Very successful couple of days over the May bank holiday welcoming potential players to our club and supporting them whilst they had a go at outdoor bowls
We were blessed with fantastic weather and good company
Chew Stoke Bowling Club Captains Day 2022
Club members enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon back on the outdoor green in the new club kit this afternoon, with lovely weather and everyone enjoying the chance to catch up after the winter season.

Our Green keeper Martin Tibbs had been nominated for Green keeper of the year [2022] by Bowls England.
Martin was very chuffed at being nominated.
He works incredibly hard on the green all year round and has received many compliments from other counties and local players within Somerset as to it's health, how well it is prepared and well it plays
The winner on the night was Philip Jefferey Wright from Earls-Barton bowls club Northamptonshire, we wish him many congratulations.

20-21 Season @ CHEW STOKE BOWLS CLUB
Chew Stoke Bowls club were very honored to host the Somerset County Finals day on Sunday 8th August 2021.
Despite a very flooded green on arrival and after some great work by the greenkeeper [Martin Tibbs] and his helpers Pete & Brian, play was able to proceed and the spectators were treated to a fabulous day of bowls with refreshments provided throughout the day by a team of club members

All the finalists on the day will now play at the National finals at Leamington later this month- congratulations and good luck to you all.

On Sunday 18th July 2021, Chew Stoke Bowls Club hosted one of the Inter-County
regional semi & final rounds under way throughout the UK of the White Rose [under 25's] to decide who goes forward to the National finals at Leamington in August this year.
Somerset got through to the final and only lost by 1 shot to Gloucestershire, a great achievement.
Those spectating on the day watched some awesome bowling from all the teams taking part.
The picture above shows our club Chairman Robin Leach with County Men's President for this year Tony Whitmarsh, handing over the green to the County Presidents.
After the game the Glos Middleton cup manager wrote the following lovely thank you email to Tony-
"On behalf of myself, Ken MANNS (match official) & the Glos team, I would like to thank you & your members for hosting the U25’s yesterday.
Without the commitment of members who give hours & hours of their time, for free, these events could not take place.
I did thank the ladies in the kitchen, but did not see the green keeper. So, could you pass on Gloucestershire’s thanks to him. It is without doubt, the best prepared & healthiest green I have seen in over 40 years of bowling. The players were very complimentary".
